Addiction doesn’t just affect the individual, it impacts the whole family. But the good news is, recovery becomes much stronger when families are involved. 💜

👉 How families help in recovery:
• Emotional support: Consistent love and patience help reduce guilt and shame.
• Healthy communication: Encouraging open, non-judgmental conversations builds trust.
• Accountability & structure: Families can help maintain routines and prevent relapses.
• Encouragement for treatment: Motivating the person to stick with therapy/medications makes recovery sustainable.
• Healing together: Families also learn healthier coping strategies, reducing conflicts at home.

💪🏽 Recovery is not a solo journey. With the right professional help and family support, de-addiction becomes a path of healing for everyone involved.

✨ I’m Dr. Aditi Hinge, Consultant Psychiatrist and founder of Nysha Mind Wellness, and I’ve seen how powerful family support can be in overcoming addiction.

Changing the Narrative✅

World Su***de Prevention Day is on 10th September 2025

So many myths surround su***de and these myths can cost lives.
🚫 Talking about su***de does not plant the idea.
🚫 People who open up are not “attention-seeking.”
🚫 Once someone feels suicidal, it is not hopeless.

✅ Research shows: asking directly, listening with compassion, and connecting to help can actually save lives.

As a psychiatrist, I’ve seen how honest conversations and timely support bring people back from the edge.

✨ If you want my step-by-step guide on how to help a loved one who might be having suicidal thoughts, comment “Guide” and I’ll send it to you.

🚫Never say “just calm down” to someone with anxiety. 😰

It might seem helpful, but it often makes things worse. 🧠

Try this instead: ✅

“I’m here for you.”

“It’s okay to feel this way.”

“Let’s breathe together.”

“You’re not alone.”

Your words can comfort or cause harm — choose empathy.

Support goes a long way.🤗

Be kind, be present. ❤️‍🩹

It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure to post, the fear of saying the wrong thing, and the noise of misinformation.

So I stepped back.

Chose real conversations over constant content.

Lately, I’ve been recharging, spending time with people who matter, and building a little more self-compassion.

I’m still here just showing up slower, on my own terms.

🌈 This Holi, let’s color our minds with positivity!

Holi is not just about vibrant colors it’s a celebration of joy, connection, and mental well-being.

🎨 Color Psychology: Each color you choose on Holi can reveal aspects of your personality.

For instance, 🔴 red symbolizes energy and passion
while 🟢 green Represents growth and harmony.
🟡Yellow Represent happiness
🔵 Blue Represent Calmness and Clarity
🟣 Purple Creativity and spirituality
What do your Holi colors say about you? 🌟

😊 The Science of Happiness: Engaging in festivities like Holi triggers the release of endorphins, making you feel happier.
The act of playing with colors can ignite feelings of joy and excitement, creating lasting memories.

💖 Letting Go: Holi also serves as an emotional cleanse.
It’s a time to release negativity and embrace forgiveness, helping you feel lighter and more connected to those around you.

☀️ Sunshine & Serotonin: The bright colors of Holi naturally boost serotonin levels in the brain, enhancing your mood and overall well-being.

🧠 The Power of Sensory Play: Engaging in sensory experiences during Holi stimulates the mind, encouraging creativity and reducing stress.

This festive season, immerse yourself in the joy of Holi and embrace its mental health benefits! 🌼✨

✨ What Self-Love IS and ISN’T ✨

Self-love is about showing yourself the kindness, respect, and care you deserve. It’s not selfish; it’s essential. 💖 Here’s what self-love truly means:

What Self-Love IS:

🚦 Setting Boundaries: Protect your time and energy by saying “no” when needed. Prioritize your well-being without guilt.
💖 Accepting Yourself: Embrace your imperfections—they make you beautifully human. Love yourself for who you are, not just who you aspire to be.
🧘‍♀️ Prioritizing Wellness: Choose habits that nurture your mental, emotional, and physical health. Whether it’s rest, movement, or mindful eating, take care of you.
🤝 Forgiving Yourself: Let go of past mistakes and focus on learning without harsh self-criticism.
🦋 Being True to Yourself: Live authentically and align with your values. Stay true to what lights your soul.

What Self-Love ISN’T:

🚫 Selfishness: Caring for yourself doesn’t mean ignoring others. It’s about balance.
❌ Perfectionism: You don’t have to be flawless to be worthy of love—especially from yourself.
🛑 Harmful Habits: Self-love doesn’t mean avoiding accountability or making unhealthy choices.
❎ Neglecting Responsibilities: It’s about balance, not abandoning your commitments.
📉 Comparison: Focus on your unique journey instead of measuring yourself against others.
💡 Self-love is a practice, not a destination. Celebrate your progress, forgive your setbacks, and always treat yourself with compassion. You’re worthy of love—especially your own. 💕
