Bleeding in early pregnancy can be scary — but not all bleeding means miscarriage. “Sometimes it’s harmless — like implantation bleeding, which happens when the embryo attaches to the womb.”
But bleeding can also be a sign of something more serious — like a threatened miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or molar pregnancy. That’s why any bleeding — even light spotting — in early pregnancy should be checked with an ultrasound and blood tests (β-hCG)
