In this video, Dr. Harika Regani, Oculoplastic Surgeon at IFocus Eye Hospital, Vijayawada, explains everything you need to know about droopy eyelids (ptosis).
β’ Droopy eyelids, also called ptosis, may be present from birth or can appear later in life.
β’ The treatment depends on how severe the condition is.
β’ If the eyelid droops so much that it blocks vision, it becomes an urgent problem. In such cases, surgery is needed at the earliest to prevent permanent vision issues.
β’ In mild to moderate cases, where vision is not blocked, it is usually a cosmetic concern. This can be corrected even during school-going age to improve appearance and confidence.
π Dr. Harika highlights when to take droopy eyelids seriously and the right time to opt for treatment.
