The Vaidic Dharma Sansthan Trust of the Art of Living Organization in Telangana and Andhra is organising Ayushya Homa in the presence of Pujya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar ji on September 13, 2020. We welcome you all to participate in this Homa that will be conducted online, by taking a Sankalpa (learn more about Sankalpa under "About the Event" section below).
*🌺What is Ayushya Homa?🌺*
It is a Homa that is performed every day at the Bangalore International Center of the Art of Living Organisation. This Homa is performed for Rejuvenation, Vitality and Longevity of those in whose name the Homa is performed or Sankalpa is taken.
*🌺Benefits🌺*
Ayushya Homa has positive impact on the mind and mental health of a person. It acts as a remedy for those who are distressed and depressed. It is also said to be effective in curing serious health ailments.
The subtle energies of the Ayushya Homa invigorate the consciousness and enable us to recognize its undying and ever pure nature. Thus, participating in Ayushya Homa is considered highly beneficent in two ways –
- Unveiling the Eternal Consciousness &
- Strengthening the Medium (the body) which enables us to lead a spiritual life.
*🌺History (Ittihaas)🌺*
Rishi Markandeya, who was the son of Saint Mrukandu, was destined to die at the tender age of sixteen. On the last day of his life, Markandeya prayed to Lord Shiva and embraced the Shivalinga. He chanted the sacred Mrityunjaya Stotram praying to Lord Shiva to protect his life. When Yama tried to throw the noose around Markandeya’s neck, the noose also encircled the Linga and Lord Yama. The Lord of Death was left fighting for His life. Lord Shiva then spared Yama's life on the condition that His devotee - Markandeya would be spared.
*🌺About the Event🌺*
The Homa will be conducted online from our International Center in Bangalore on September 13, 2020 from 10 am onwards.
An online link with password will be sent to all those who take Sankalpa for the Homa. (A Sankalpa is an intention formed by the heart and mind – a solemn vow, determination, or will. In practical terms it means a one-pointed resolve to focus both psychologically and philosophically on a specific goal and is a tool meant to refine the will, and to focus and harmonize the body and mind).
