To confirm this, two samples are usually tested—if both are positive, the patient is likely to spread; if negative, the chances of spreading TB are low. Patients with negative test generally do not spread the infection. Meanwhile Regular medication is essential to prevent the disease from progressing and becoming infectious.

Acute Paralysis Triggered by Excessive Coconut Water Consumption

We recently treated a patient who developed acute flaccid paralysis after consuming 4–5 liters of coconut water during an episode of severe diarrhea.
Laboratory evaluation revealed hyperkalemia (elevated serum potassium), likely precipitated by excessive intake of potassium-rich fluids during dehydration.

🔹 In such cases, Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) are the medically recommended choice for safe and balanced rehydration.
🔹 Natural fluids like coconut water should be consumed in moderation, especially during gastrointestinal illness.
