There are no food ‘rules’, but sometimes we can inflict unhelpful limitations on the way we interact with food. Not only does it take us away from being present & grateful for the food we eat, but also creates unhealthy emotions that we link to eating. It can also derail us from our wellness / fitness goals.
🍽 We’ve all been told by someone “You have to finish what’s on your plate!”. Nope, you don’t 👋
If you’re full, stop eating and work on portion control so you get good at cooking/ serving an amount that’s good for you without wasting food or being over glutinous.
🕰 If you like eating at 5pm each day and that’s a habit that feels good for you, awesome! But remember it’s ok to be flexible. Choose Regularity over Perfection 👍 Just aim to not eat a big meal and go to bed soon after.
🍩 If eating occasional foods like cake, doughnuts, cookies etc aligns with your goals and you enjoy them, amazing! Do exactly that - enjoy them in MODERATION!
Just be mindful that you’re eating them because you enjoy them and they offer you balance, not because you’re looking for distraction or comfort from stress or emotion. The KEY here is to practice mindfulness. Become aware of your mindset & emotional state. Be more present when you’re eating. Make decisions from an empowered place, not from autopilot 🙏
