"The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health, or removal and annihilation of the disease in its whole extent, in the shortest, most reliable and most harmless way, on easily comprehensible principles."
-- Dr. Samuel Hahnemann
Does such a cure that Dr. Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, spoke of actually exist? A total cure may mean a complete change in the constitutional predisposition to disease. This change will not occur in this lifetime. Why? Because the constitutional predisposition to disease is really the genetic makeup that one is born with, and hence the tendency one may have to attracting a particular illness, such as an allergy or frequent bouts of influenza, will persist. Really? Well, yes and no. Yes, because of the genetic makeup. No, because such an inbuilt disposition always has a natural counter regulating mechanism within the body. It is this innate counter regulatory force that is often called “the doctor within” that needs activation.
By increasing the force of action of this counter mechanism, one can avoid getting the disease despite have a predisposition to it. Any truly healing therapy, such as homeopathy, can act at the energy level to boost this counter regulating mechanism and result in “rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health”
