Tent Pole technique -an effective way for increasing Vertical soft tissue thickness

Prevention of Crestal Bone loss is most important aspect of Implantology practice for long term survival of Implants and avoiding the future complications.
Sufficient vertical soft tissue thickness is one of the important factor in Prevention of crestal bone loss.
There are various techniques for increasing vertical soft tissue thickness over the implant like, flattening of Alveolar ridge, Augmentation of vertical soft tissue, Tent Pole technique etc.
Among all these techniques,
Tent Pole Technique is simplest technique and very easy to implement as compared to others
The tent-pole technique uses biologic principles to increase soft tissue height.
This Helps in increasing the Vertical Soft tissue thickness around the implant and thus prevents the crestal bone loss.

A 74 year Old Male Patient came with history of dislodged crown over Implant.
(Implant was done few years ago by another dentist at another dental clinic.)
History of frequent abutment screw loosening was there suggestive of excessive occlusal load. IOPA Radiograph
Suggests Fracture at Implant Neck. Implant fracture happens mainly because of excessive occlusal load and crestal bone loss. In implant fracture case, implant need to be removed. Fixture remover tool was not tried because fractured abutment screw fragment was already inside. So, Fixture removal tool would not have engaged. Hence, Trephine drill was used for Implant removal. I am Thankful to Dr. Kunal Shah for referring the Case and giving me the opportunity.
