Dear All,

We are delighted to announce the successful celebration of Breastfeeding Awareness Week ( 1st to 7th - Aug 2024), themed "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All," organized by the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Pharmacy.

Throughout the week, we provided health awareness materials and education to breastfeeding mothers and their spouses. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Nandini Devi, Consultant Gynaecologist and Sonologist at Jawahar Hospital Peraiyur and Watrap, for her insightful seminar on "Health Benefits of Breastfeeding." Additionally, we organized quiz and drawing competitions to further raise awareness among students and staff.

Special appreciation goes to Dr. Vaishnavi S, PharmD, Assistant Professor, the Organizing Secretary, and to the dedicated student volunteers. Our gratitude also extends to GMCH - Virudhunagar for granting permission to hold the event. We deeply appreciate the support of our beloved Principal, Dr. N. Venkateshan, Dr. Sadagoban G.K., HOD, and the Department of Pharmacy Practice staff, as well as the AKCP Management, all of whom played a crucial role in the successful completion of this program.

PharmD students from Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Pharmacy recently participated in a CME on Navigation to Medical Research and Workshop on Modus Operandi – Penning Down the Research Protocol, hosted by the Department of Community Medicine at Government Medical College Hospital, Virudhunagar. We are grateful to our Principal, Dr. N Venkateshan- AKCP, Dean Dr. SeethaLakshmi, Vice Principal Dr. Anitha Mohan, HOD of the Department of Community Medicine, Dr. Thirumalai Kumar, and all the staff from Government Medical College - Virudhunagar for their support and guidance. Department of Pharmacy Practice recently hosted an online event, Rx Talk Lecture Series - 1, in collaboration with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association - South Tamil Nadu Local Branch on June 21, 2024. Dr. Sahithi Kolli, PharmD, Specialty Pharmacist at Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey, United States, delivered an enlightening talk titled "On the Frontlines: Specialty Pharmacists in Oncology Care."
