However, if you do not have diabetes, sugar intake will not cause diabetes. Diabetes is an illness which occurs as a result of problems with the production and supply of insulin in the body. Most of the food we eat is turned into glucose, a form of sugar. We use glucose as a source of energy to provide power to the muscles and other tissues. If left untreated, diabetes can lead to serious heart problems such as cardiovascular disease (CVD), or heart disease, including peripheral artery disease (PAD) and stroke.

If you or someone in family is at increased risk for diabetes, discuss with your doctor or an endocrinologist/Diabetologist immediately.

A Respiratory Infection or chest infection is an infection that affects your lower large airways (bronchi) and your lungs. Pneumonia and bronchitis are the most common chest infections. Bronchitis is usually caused by a viral infection. Pneumonia is usually due to bacterial infection. Pneumonia may be serious and need hospital admission.

Although most chest infections are mild and improve on their own, some cases can be very serious, even life-threatening. A bout of infection of the large airways (bronchi) in the lungs (acute bronchitis) usually gets better on its own within 7-10 days without any medicines.

If you suspect that you have a severe infection of the lung (pneumonia), Consult us today!
