"On this Arthritis Day, let's remember that arthritis is not a disease but a symptom—an indicator of an underlying condition that can range from autoimmune disorders to metabolic issues. Early diagnosis and appropriate management can make all the difference in improving quality of life. Let's raise awareness, promote timely medical intervention, and empower those living with arthritis to lead pain-free, active lives."

Heel pain due to plantar fasciitis is indeed a common complaint in outpatient settings. While it often improves on its own, it can be persistent for many patients despite treatment. The natural history shows that:

Short-term outcomes: Up to 80% of patients may still experience symptoms after one year, even with interventions.
Long-term outcomes: At the 15-year mark, around 44% of patients may continue to have some heel pain, although it usually becomes less severe over time.
Management typically includes stretching exercises, orthotics, physical therapy, and sometimes corticosteroid injections, but the chronic nature of the condition can make it frustrating for both patients and physicians.

Yoga uses gentle stretching exercises to help relieve pain and increase flexibility. It helps stabilize your core to better support your spine. Several studies have shown the benefit of yoga on Ankylosing spondylitis patients.

Yoga’s benefits for AS patients aren’t just physical. According to a study published in the Indian Journal of Palliative Care, yoga promotes relaxation and helps reduce anxiety. It may also calm your nervous system, reduce pain and fatigue, and help you cope with a chronic illness's emotional issues.
