Is intermittent fasting actually safe? ⏳🍽️

Here is the honest medical truth 👇
Intermittent fasting helps some bodies and stresses others.

What I usually recommend in clinical practice 👩‍⚕️
A simple 8 hour eating window 🕗 (for example, 9 am to 5 pm).
The remaining hours are fasting. This is not starvation ❌
Water, plain tea, or black coffee are allowed 💧☕

Possible benefits when done correctly ✅
• Improved insulin sensitivity 🩸 (mainly in people with insulin resistance)
• Digestive and metabolic rest 🔄 (reduced constant insulin spikes)
• Reduced late night and emotional snacking 🚫🍫
• Can support slow and sustainable weight management ⚖️ (when calories and nutrition are adequate)
• Easier for some people to maintain than strict diets 🧠

One practical tip to avoid common mistakes 💡
• Start with an early eating window 🕘 to 🕔 (better for body clock and sugar control)
• Break your fast with protein and fibre 🍳🥗, not biscuits or sugary drinks ❌🍪
• Avoid combining long fasting with intense workouts at the beginning 🏋️‍♀️⚠️
• If you notice fatigue, hair fall, dizziness, anxiety, or missed periods, stop immediately 😵‍💫

Who should be careful or avoid it ⚠️
• Pregnant or breastfeeding 🤰🤱
• Trying to conceive 🧸 (aggressive fasting can affect ovulation)
• Living with PCOS and irregular cycles 🔄 (some improve, some worsen)
• Underweight or nutritionally deficient 🍽️
• Diabetic on medication or insulin 💉
• Managing thyroid disorders 🦋 (symptoms may worsen in some)
• History of eating disorders 🚨

Fasting is a tool, not a trend.
Nutrition should support hormones, not stress them 🫶

Have you tried intermittent fasting before?

Pap smear test does NOT mean you have cancer ❌🧪

I see many women panic when a Pap smear is advised because they think it means cancer.
That fear is very common, but it is also unnecessary.

Important truth 👩‍⚕️
A Pap smear is a screening test, not a cancer diagnosis.
It checks surface cells of the cervix to catch early changes, long before cancer develops.

The test is quick, usually painless, and takes only a few minutes.

Why Pap smear is done 🧫
• Detect early cell changes
• Identify HPV related changes early
• Prevent cervical cancer before it starts 🎗️

Most Pap smear reports are normal ✅
Even when mild abnormalities are found, it usually means early, easily manageable changes, not cancer.

How often should you get a Pap smear? 📅
• From 21 to 29 years: once every 3 years, if normal
• From 30 to 65 years:
• Pap smear every 3 years, or
• HPV test every 5 years, if advised
• After 65 years: screening may be stopped if previous tests were normal, after medical advice

Why avoiding the test is risky ⚠️
Fear delays screening.
Delayed screening leads to late detection.

Remember 💡
Pap smear is done to protect you, not to scare you.
Early screening saves lives 🫶

Living in the City of Destiny has its perks, doesn’t it? 🌊✨

We often treat stress as “normal,” but your body notices it before you do. High stress can interfere with ovulation and affect hormone balance.

Here is the good part: Vizag gives us a natural stress reset. A walk at Beach is not just a pretty moment. The breeze, the sound, and the open space genuinely help your cortisol settle. 🧘‍♀💙

You don’t need a getaway to support your fertility health. Try this simple “Beach Therapy” routine:
• 🌬 Breathe: Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6
• 🌊 Listen: Focus on the waves and let your mind slow down
• 🚶‍♀ Move: A 20 minute walk can ease stress better than scrolling

And if you are at home or in any nearby park, these relaxation techniques help just as well:
• 🌬 Deep breathing for 3 to 5 minutes
• 🤸 Light stretching
• 🧘 Short mindfulness pause
• 🎧 Calming music
• 🌿 Sitting quietly in a park or balcony
• 📔 A few lines of journaling

Small moments of calm support a healthier cycle.

Thinking of going on an extreme diet to lose weight fast? Most people try it… and regret it later.
In this video, Dr Ramya explains what really happens inside your body when you cut calories too aggressively, why it backfires, and what you should do instead.

If you have been struggling with weight loss, low energy, or confusing diet advice, this series will help you understand your body better and make safer choices.

Follow for science backed tips on weight loss, nutrition, women’s health, and everyday wellness.

🔥 Are you trying everything to lose weight, but the scale still isn’t moving?
You are not alone. Many people make these small mistakes without even realising them. Let’s understand how to fix them. 👇

🥣 1. Skipping breakfast
When you skip breakfast, your metabolism slows down, and you are more likely to crave unhealthy snacks later in the day.

💧 2. Not drinking enough water
Hydration plays an important role in fat metabolism. Even mild dehydration can make your body retain weight and slow digestion. Aim for at least 2–2.5 litres of water daily.

😴 3. Poor sleep
Sleeping less than seven hours can increase cortisol, the stress hormone, and hunger hormones. This often leads to stronger cravings and slower progress.

🍗 4. Not enough protein, too many simple carbohydrates
Protein keeps you full for longer and helps preserve muscle while burning fat. Replace white rice, sweets, and sugary drinks with complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, millets, and oats.

🚫 5. Depending on quick-fix diet products
Detox teas, shakes and fat-burner powders often do more harm than good. Choose natural, balanced meals and give your body time to respond.

✨ Remember, healthy weight loss is not about eating less. It is about nourishing your body with the right foods and maintaining consistency.

💚 Start small, stay committed and trust your body.

Hot showers during pregnancy? 🚿🤰 Not always safe!

A warm bath can feel soothing when you are pregnant, but it is important to ensure the water is not too hot.
Here is what every mum-to-be should remember 👇

🌡️ Keep the water lukewarm (around 36–38°C), which is close to your body temperature.
🔥 Very hot water can make you feel dizzy or lower your blood pressure, which may reduce blood flow to your baby.
🕒 Try to limit bath time to 10–15 minutes to avoid overheating.
🚫 Avoid steam baths or saunas, as they can raise your body temperature too quickly.
💗 If you start feeling light-headed, sweaty, or your heart begins to race, step out and cool down straight away.

✨ The rule is simple: stay warm, not hot!
