As one can observe, the eye lashes are almost lost due to constant rubbing on account of itching and burning. The usual discomfort initially is heaviness of lids on waking up from sleep and difficulty in seeing light, photophobia,. This condition is due to release of toxins by bacteria, usually staphylococci. By applying hot fomentations, an increase in blood circulation, results in washing away the toxins and bringing in antibodies against the toxins. The lashes regrow once the condition is controlled.
