Case Series 02 fever with a twist π₯
* π©ββοΈ A 25-year-old woman came with persistent fever lasting for one month.
* π She had already used multiple antibiotics and Dolo (paracetamol) without lasting relief.
* π§ͺ Further medical workup revealed a thyroid problem as the underlying cause.
* π‘οΈ Surprisingly, high thyroid levels (hyperthyroidism) can sometimes cause fever.
* βοΈ Hyperthyroidism symptoms include weight loss, palpitations, restlessness, and frequent motions.
* π€ Hypothyroidism, on the other hand, causes weight gain, tiredness, dry skin, hair fall, and sleepiness.
* π§ Key learning: long-term unexplained fever can occasionally be due to thyroid issues.
* π« Avoid using over-the-counter antibiotics without a doctorβs prescription β it can do more harm than good.
* π¨ββοΈ Consult your endocrinologist for proper diagnosis and management.
