✨✨World Leprosy Day 2025✨✨ serves as a vital reminder of a disease that still affects many people across the globe.

▶️Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae.

▶️It primarily affects the skin, nerves, and mucous membranes.

▶️Transmission occurs through droplets from the nose and mouth during close contact with an untreated individual.

▶️Symptoms may include numb patches on the skin, muscle weakness, and damage to peripheral nerves.

▶️Diagnosis involves a thorough examination and skin biopsies to confirm bacterial presence.

▶️Fortunately, leprosy is treatable with multidrug therapy (MDT), which effectively kills the bacteria and helps prevent further complications. Early diagnosis is crucial for successful treatment outcomes.

✅If you notice any symptoms related to leprosy or have concerns about your skin health, it’s important to consult a dermatologist promptly. Awareness and prompt action are key in managing this condition!
