Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing (SRMMCON) was established in 2002-2003 with annual intake of 30 for Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course under the ambit of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Nursing was started to provide the diploma nurses an opportunity to upgrade their education status. This was the first College in Vidarbha region to start Post Graduate Course in Nursing under the ambit of Maharashtra University of Health .

A Cyber Security Awareness Program was successfully organized at Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing on 28th October 2025. The main objective of the program was to create awareness among students about safe internet practices, data protection, and the prevention of cyber threats.

💡 The guest speakers, Ms. Smita Mahajan and Mr. Ankit Jibhe from the Cyber Crime Cell, Wardha, shared valuable insights on topics such as password security, phishing scams, and social media safety.

👩‍💻 A total of 90 students from B.B.Sc. Nursing 1st Year (SRMMCON) actively participated in the session. The program was highly informative and interactive, helping students understand the importance of cybersecurity in their daily digital activities.

An awareness session on “Breastfeeding Techniques” was conducted to educate antenatal and postnatal mothers, their relatives, and healthcare professionals about proper breastfeeding methods and their numerous benefits for the baby, mother, family, and society. 🍼💖

The event began with an engaging role play by nursing students, demonstrating effective breastfeeding practices. The session emphasized the importance of early identification of breast-related issues, promotion of infant growth and development, and the support of small family norms. 👶👩‍🍼

The activity drew active participation from patients, families, and healthcare providers, creating awareness about the significance of breastfeeding in ensuring maternal and child health. 🌼

🌿 World Mental Health Week Celebration 2025 🌿

🎯 Theme: “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophe and Emergency”

The Department of Mental Health Nursing, SRMMCON, in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, AVBRH; Florence Nightingale Training College of Nursing; and Shalinitai Meghe College of Nursing, Salod, Hirapur, successfully organized a week-long celebration of World Mental Health Week 2025.

💚 Highlights of the Week:
✨ Day 1: Inaugural Function at AVBRH with inspiring addresses by distinguished guests and a skit on mental health awareness.
🎭 Day 2: Skit Competition among four nursing colleges showcasing creativity and compassion.
🖼️ Day 3: Poster Competition at Psychiatric OPD highlighting mental health through art.
🚶‍♀️ Day 4: Awareness Rally at Umari village and Quiz Competition at Florence Nightingale Training College — SRMMCON (5th & 6th Sem) secured 1st place!
🏆 Day 5: Valedictory Function with prize distribution and appreciation to all participants.

🌿 Inaugural Function of World Mental Health Week Celebration – 7th October 2025
Theme: “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophe and Emergency”

The Department of Mental Health Nursing, Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing, in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, AVBRH, Florence Nightingale Training College of Nursing, and Shalinitai Meghe College of Nursing, Salod (Hirapur), inaugurated the World Mental Health Week Celebration on 7th October 2025 at the reception area of AVBRH.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and was anchored by Dr. Pulkit (Psychiatrist).
The occasion was graced by:
✨ Dr. Shourya Acharya, Professor & HOD of Medicine, AVBRH
✨ Dr. Ragini Patil, HOD of Psychiatry, AVBRH
✨ Dr. Pooja Kasturkar, Dean Academics & HOD of Mental Health Nursing, SRMMCON

Dr. Acharya shared valuable insights on mental health awareness, while Dr. Kasturkar and Dr. Patil highlighted the importance of emotional well-being and community support.
🎭 Clinical Psychology students presented a powerful skit emphasizing mental health awareness, followed by a motivational vote of thanks by Dr. Pulkit.

As part of World Mental Health Week (7th–11th October 2025), a series of engaging activities — including skit, poster, and quiz competitions, as well as interactive and recreational sessions for mentally ill patients — will be conducted to foster empathy, awareness, and holistic mental well-being. 💚
