There was always a sense within me that a teacher is important. But I didn’t fully understand why — until I began to walk the path more sincerely.
In the early stages of life and practice, our hearts are easily influenced. People, emotions, distractions, and even our own thoughts can cloud our ability to see clearly — to know who we truly are and what we really seek.
That’s when a teacher appears — not just to show us their light, but to help us find our own. Gently, patiently, they guide us out of that darkness. Not by carrying us, but by helping us recognize the direction we need to walk. Not by giving us answers, but by sharpening our inner vision
so we can begin to see for ourselves.
I’ve realized that a true teacher doesn’t create dependence — they create inner independence. The word Guru itself means
“the one who leads from darkness to light.”
But the light they point to is not theirs —
it’s the one already within us.
Today, with deep love and sincerity,
I don’t just want to say thank you to my teachers. I want to wish them happiness —
for the strength, support, and compassion
they’ve offered me without asking for anything in return. They’ve helped me find the path towards the light within.
And for that, I’ll always remain grateful.
We hope that anyone reading this finds such a teacher — someone who doesn’t make you follow, but helps you discover the courage to walk your own path.
