The largest group of workers in the health sector are those in the nursing occupations as nurses and nursing assistants. In a hospital from the general ward to the operating theater, nursing forms an integral part. Nursing duties are manifold and cover a wide range of functions and responsibilities, that depends with the level of qualification and the working environment. At the initial level, nurses are required for the bedside care of patients, while at senior level they are required to manage special group of people like psychiatric, pediatric, intensive care patients etc which require specialised skills. They are also involved in dispensing medication, keeping records of the patients progress, setting up and operating medical equipment, administration and several other routine chores.

🧠✨ Mental Wellness Seminar | Building Awareness & Empathy ✨🧠

Aditya College of Nursing and Aditya School of Nursing successfully organized a Seminar on Mental Wellness on 23rd January 2026, with the aim of promoting awareness, understanding, and emotional well-being among students and faculty.

🎙️ Resource Person:
Ms. Rose J. Thazhathukunnel, Associate Onco-Psychologist at Cytecare Hospital, Yelahanka, shared her expertise and insights on mental health and wellness. With a strong academic background and certifications from Christ University, Calicut University, and NIMHANS, she brought valuable clinical and real-world perspectives to the session.

💡 Session Highlights:
The seminar focused on understanding mental wellness and mental health disorders, identifying their causes, reducing social stigma, and emphasizing the importance of early identification, prevention, empathy, and support. Through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and open conversations, participants were encouraged to relate psychological concepts to everyday life.

The session highlighted the importance of empathy, awareness, and timely intervention in nurturing healthier individuals and stronger communities. 🌱
