Abnormal Embryos Don’t ‘Self‑Correct’: 70 Transfers, 0 Babies”
This study looked at IVF embryos that were labelled abnormal because they had whole extra or missing chromosomes (whole‑chromosome aneuploidy). When 70 of these embryos were transferred, none resulted in a live birth, even though some implanted briefly and then miscarried. This shows that replacing whole‑chromosome abnormal embryos does not work in practice and should not be offered as a realistic option for having a baby.
