IFMSA-Iraq is a non-governmental organization representing medical students in Iraq
The organization is independent, non-profit, and non-governmental formed by Iraqi medical students and graduates. Principles
The organization pursues its aims without political, religious, social, racial, national, sexual, or any other discrimination. The organization promotes humanitarian ideals among medical students and so seeks to contribute to the creation of responsible future physicians. The organization respects the autonomy of its members. The goal of the organization is to serve society and medical students all over the country by:
Developing the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of the Iraqi medical students on a personal, social and academic level. Representing the umbrella that provides all kinds of support for all Iraqi medical students studying medicine in all universities, internally and externally. Strengthening the bonds of interdependence between the Iraqi medical students to devote the spirit of cooperation and dialogue
Enabling medical students in Iraq to take advantage of their potentials at an early stage to contribute to the development of their society through the activities of civil and community-based health-related programs. Objectives
Giving the Iraqi medical students the opportunity to participate and learn through the existing international discussions that address pressing issues on the agenda of health in today’s world, like their peers around the world. Strengthening the position of medical students towards a culture of tolerance and understanding of multiculturalism, and access to systems and the health challenges in friendly countries through student exchange programs and international cooperation
