Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Import Specialist to manage the importation of pharmaceutical medical devices, equipment, and healthcare supplies. The role requires close coordination with suppliers, regulatory authorities, and logistics partners to ensure all shipments comply with medical import regulations and arrive on time.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle end-to-end import processes for medical equipment, devices, consumables, and pharmaceuticals (if applicable)
* Prepare and review all import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.)
* Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health, customs, and other regulatory authority requirements
* Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers for smooth clearance
* Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or clearance issues
* Manage product registration documents and import permits where required
* Verify HS codes, duties, taxes, and exemption eligibility for medical goods
* Maintain organized records of regulatory approvals, certificates, and shipment history
* Communicate with suppliers to ensure proper labeling and documentation for medical products
* Monitor freight and clearance costs and suggest cost-saving solutions
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
* 2–5 years of experience in import/export operations, preferably in the medical or pharmaceutical field
* Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures for medical items
* Familiarity with medical product registration and health authority regulations
* Understanding of Incoterms and international shipping documentation
* Good skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive, regulated products
* Excellent communication and coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience dealing with Ministry of Health approvals and medical import permits
* Knowledge of cold chain logistics (for temperature-sensitive products)
* Experience using ERP or inventory/logistics systems
* Language Kurdish, Arabic, English proficiency (written and spoken)
