Our Story
Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital falls within the charitable projects of the Development and Relief Foundation (DRF) which is listed as a non-governmental organization in the NGO directorate of the General Secretariat for Council of Ministers, Republic of Iraq, in affiliation with the DRF - USA. The DRF is registered in the US as a charitable non-profit tax-exempt organization under the article 501(C) of the IRS. Due to the lack of medical services related to the past international blockade and the compounded current perilous political and security condition around the province of Karbala, this geographic area has been deprived from an adequate number of health centers and hospitals. Therefore, the project of Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital has started as a charitable venture to assist the local authoriites in providing a well integrated healthcare system to 1.5 million citizens and millions of visitors alike. Therefore, the hospital is considered of the most vital services in the holy city of Karbala.
