Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) occurs due to the compression of the median nerve at the wrist within the carpal canal, resulting in various symptoms such as tingling, numbness, and pain in the fingers supplied by the median nerve. If left untreated, it can progress to loss of sensation, weakness in the thenar muscles, and muscle atrophy.
