Algalíf Announces CEO Transition.

Algalíf has announced a leadership change following the decision of Orri Björnsson to step down as CEO after thirteen successful years with the company. Under Orri’s guidance, Algalíf has grown into a global leader in microalgae cultivation and astaxanthin production, supported by a state-of-the-art 13,500 m² facility at Ásbrú and a dedicated team of around 80 employees.

Kári Marís Guðmundsson has been appointed the new CEO and will assume his role at the beginning of December. Kári brings extensive international experience in industrial operations, strategic development, and global sales, most recently serving as CEO of PCC Bakki.

Orri will continue to support the transition in the coming months. Algalíf thanks him for his leadership and his significant contribution to the company’s growth.

Algalíf remains committed to maintaining its position as an industry leader and will continue to focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable products and excellent service to its customers worldwide.
