SSAI Board Meeting in Oslo
Over the past few days, the SSAI Board and the ACTA Foundation met in Oslo for a series of productive and inspiring sessions. The agenda covered several key topics within anesthesiology and intensive care across the Nordic countries.
Highlights from the meetings:
• National Chairs Meeting – held for the second time
A valuable forum where the chairs of the national societies exchange ideas, discuss shared challenges, and strengthen Nordic collaboration. The format continues to be greatly appreciated.
• ACTA Foundation Board Meeting
Discussions focused on the development of the journal as well as support for research and educational initiatives.
• Research Committee
The committee is working to promote cross‑border scientific collaboration and further develop the Research Methodology Course. The next course will take place in May — still with available spots — and a second course is planned for the fall.
• NYA – Nordic Young Anaesthesiologists Exchange Program
Six grants have been awarded to trainee doctors for exchange stays in other Nordic countries in 2026. A new application round will open in the fall/winter.
• Education Committee – Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The committee continues its work on Nordic CPD. So far, the efforts have resulted in a series of ACTA articles, with the long‑term goal of creating a shared Nordic CPD manual.
Preparations for the 2026 General Assembly also began. The General Assembly will take place during the SSAI Congress 2026 in Reykjavík.
The Board was also presented with the exciting final program for the congress, taking place in Reykjavík, Iceland, 10–12 June.
We hope to see you in Reykjavík!
