Our clay hills are veritable explosions of color: the clay formations range from brick red to vinato red to light and dark gray and greenish gray.
The colors are typically distributed according to ordered bands or unevenly, forming natural patterns that are already true works of art. 🎨
These endless combinations are a continuous inspiration for the creation of our handcrafted ceramics. 💡

I nostri calanchi sono vere e proprie esplosioni di colori: le formazioni argillose vanno dal rosso mattone al rosso vinato, fino al grigio chiaro e scuro e al grigio verdastro.
I colori si distribuiscono tipicamente secondo bande ordinate o in modo disomogeneo, formando motivi naturali che sono già vere e proprie opere d’arte. 🎨
Queste infinite combinazioni sono di continua ispirazione per la creazione delle nostre ceramiche artigianali. 💡

But where does the raw material that gives inspiration and life to our creations come from? 💡
It all begins with clay, an extraordinary material that in Italy, and particularly in the Emilia region, finds expression in the evocative formations of the calanchi.
Calanchi are hilly landscapes characterised by deep incisions and sharp ridges, the result of millennia of erosion by water and wind on clay soils. 🌄

Ma da dove viene la materia prima che dà ispirazione e vita alle nostre creazioni? 💡
Tutto inizia con l'argilla, un materiale straordinario che in Italia, e in particolare nel territorio emiliano, trova espressione nelle suggestive formazioni dei calanchi.
I calanchi sono paesaggi collinari caratterizzati da profonde incisioni e creste affilate, risultato di millenni di erosione da parte di acqua e vento su terreni argillosi. 🌄
