Castaldi Lighting

Castaldi Lighting Official Facebook account for Castaldi Lighting, the Italian lighting company for outdoor and indoor . Cassano Magnago, Italy · castaldilighting.it

CASTALDI LIGHTING founded from the merging of "Ing. Castaldi Illuminazione" and "Norlight", two well-established companies in the lighting sector, which over the years had successfully acquired a well-established and recognised position respectively in the Outdoor and Indoor segments, with a particular focus on Office Buildings, public areas etc. and specialised applications (e.g. clean rooms for

pharmaceutical production, hospital systems etc.). Castaldi and Norlight products are the result of the ongoing commitment towards Research & Development, Lighting Design, control over production processes and Quality Assurance, which means that even the "Custom made" requirements of the most demanding customers can be always met. The Company manufactures its products solely in Italy, in the Cassano Magnago and Gallarate plants, thanks to its fully integrated production system and the in-house, product control and testing laboratories which allow the highest standards to be maintained. Castaldi Lighting operates all over the world: exports 70% of its production with a significant presence in the USA, France, Scandinavia and the Middle East. In addition, the Company has always been very active in the segment of custom made products which generates almost half of its turnover. Castaldi Lighting products are installed throughout the world in the most exclusive and sophisticated sites: in Abu Dhabi at the Ferrari World Park, in the Sky Tower Shams and at the Cleveland Clinic, at Westminster University in London, in Zaha Hadid's City Life residences in Milan, at the Italian Space Agency in Rome, at the Atelier Renault Champs-Elysées in Paris and in many other contemporary architectural sites. The ceaseless attention to Design is an unfailing strength of Castaldi Lighting products; certain top Designers such as Piero Castiglioni, Claudio Bellini, Alfonso Femia, Gianluca Peluffo have worked with the Company for many years.

Behind every line sketched on paper, there is an intuition of light.

La Capsule was born from an essential, instinctive drawing: a single object designed to combine multiple lighting functions in one pure form.

Its design reflects the principle of affordance: a shape that naturally communicates its purpose through form itself. Inspired by the space capsule, one of the strongest objects ever designed by mankind, La Capsule transforms geometry into light.

Its apparent simplicity is the result of a design approach driven not by form itself, but by the way light interacts with space.

La Capsule is a product designed by Franck Franjou.

Timeless design is not about standing still, but about evolving while remaining recognizable.

Originally created in 1971 for demanding outdoor environments, Egeo became one of Castaldi Lighting’s iconic products thanks to its essential design and technical character.

Today, that same design language is reinterpreted in a contemporary way: Egeo evolves into a new indoor version, created to bring its distinctive character into interior spaces.

In 1971, Egeo was created to illuminate port docks and withstand the harshest conditions.

Compact and essential, with its iconic 45° light opening, Egeo was originally made in sand-cast aluminum with heavy-duty anchoring designed to resist even the force of waves.

Over time, the project evolved with new construction solutions and LED technology, while preserving the original character that made it an outdoor lighting classic by Castaldi Lighting.

More than 50 years later, still unique.

At Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3, the lighting system was designed to seamlessly integrate performance and architectural expression into a single, coherent language.

60 custom lighting poles were engineered to ensure visual continuity and uniformity across the entire area, meeting strict airport requirements in terms of safety, wayfinding, and visual comfort.

The result is a clean vertical light emission that structures the space, enhances spatial clarity, and minimizes glare and light spill - contributing to a more sustainable night environment.

A project where product evolution meets architectural vision.

At Castaldi, we bring the focus back to what truly matters: affordance - the ability of design to clearly express function.

In architectural lighting, function is the essence. Light is not decoration, but a tool to shape space and perception. Our approach has always been to make this function visible through clarity, meaning, and beauty.

This vision takes form in La Capsule and Egeo - two products where affordance becomes tangible and immediate.

La Capsule is a product designed by Franck Franjou.

An organic landscape that grows, transforms, breathes.

With Coraux de la Liberté, Aude Franjou brings to life an immersive installation composed of textile corals, suspended between fragility and renewal. From yellow to deep red, each shade tells a vital cycle, a slow gesture, a memory taking shape.

Each element reflects a slow and intentional process, where craftsmanship becomes an expression of presence and continuity.

An invitation to closely observe the quiet strength of nature.
