"R0, indice di riproduzione o numero riproduttivo, è il numero di persone sane a cui un paziente può trasmettere il virus: R0 = 2–2,5 [38], secondo alcuni dati 5,7 [42]. Per la variante delta R0=5.08 [176], per la omicron R0=4,20 [473], la variante beta attualmente non mostra alcuna prova di un vantaggio di trasmissione rispetto a B.1.617.2 [794].
