There are so many ways to meditate — on and off the cushion.
Metta (loving-kindness), moving or walking meditation, mindfulness, chakra or energy-based practices, vipassana, mantra, and more.
When I teach, I love introducing my students to this range of meditations — hoping that at least one will resonate, feel natural, and eventually become part of their daily rhythm.
Because meditation isn’t about mastering a single technique; it’s about finding what helps you connect — simply and consistently.
And while I’ve trained in many traditions, my personal daily practice is Transcendental Meditation (TM). I love its simplicity: just twenty minutes, twice a day, using a personal mantra that effortlessly allows the mind to settle into deep stillness — and the body to release accumulated tension and stress from the nervous system.
That release is profound: when the nervous system is clear and rested, we naturally think more clearly, find creative solutions, and move through the day feeling grounded, calm, and relaxed.
As Maharishi Mahesh Yogi beautifully said:
“Water the root to enjoy the fruit.”
When we nourish the source — the quiet field within — life on the surface naturally becomes more harmonious.
If you’d like to learn how to meditate or deepen your personal practice, I’d love to guide you. 🌿
