While we count macros, cut carbs and scroll through conflicting nutrition advice, nonna is sitting down to a full plate of pasta, no guilt, no negotiation, no second thoughts.

And science is finally catching up to what she always knew. Eating slowly. Eating real food. Eating with people you love. Stopping when you feel satisfied. Never fearing food.

There’s something about being with the people you love that reminds you what actually matters.

We spend so much of our lives doing what we should do. What makes sense. What looks right from the outside. And somewhere in between all of that, we forget to just do the things that make us feel alive.

I’m learning that life is genuinely too short. Too short to wait for the right moment. Too short to put off the trip, the dinner, the conversation, the afternoon that has no agenda.

This year I’m choosing the things that fill me up. The long lunches. The friends who make me laugh until it hurts. The moments that don’t need a filter or a reason. 💚

Because the life I want isn’t busier. It’s fuller. Built around the people and the moments that remind me why I’m here.

I made this for lunch and honestly could not stop staring at it before cutting into it.

A spring tart with asparagus, herby dairy free pesto, sweet peas, and jammy cherry tomatoes over a buckwheat almond crust, it tastes exactly like this time of year feels. Fresh, vibrant, and just really really good.

And it is one of those recipes that is secretly doing so much for your body. The asparagus and garlic feed your gut bacteria, the buckwheat is loaded with anti inflammatory properties, the olive oil and tomatoes are packed with polyphenols, but honestly you would never know because it just tastes like the best thing you have eaten all week.

Every color on your plate means something different for your body. Different antioxidants, different nutrients, different ways of protecting and nourishing you from the inside out.
