Easter with Finnish 🇫🇮cheeky treats is over… back to good coffee and sunshine in Naples 🇮🇹.

Mämmi – the infamous Finnish Easter pudding. Made from rye, water, molasses, and a bit of salt, it looks like something you’d find under a rock, which is probably why Finnair tried it on a flight and immediately pulled it off the menu 😂. Milk optional, sugar unnecessary (never me!).

Pasha – a creamy dessert from Russia, back when Finland was under Russian rule. Made from quark, butter, eggs, sugar, cream, and dried fruit, it must drain in a cloth for 24 hours before serving to get the right texture. Patience required—definitely not a grab-and-go dessert.

Pulla – delicate Finnish dough spiced with cinnamon and cardamom, our family’s absolute favorite. Milk must be the right temperature and we only use live yeast. Soft, airy, aromatic.

Mignon eggs – real eggshells filled with solid chocolate. Too rich for me personally, but a Finnish Easter essential. And yes… I might be a bit harder on my Finnish clients after Easter because of this 😂

I believe in enjoying cheeky treats in good company, on special occasions, but now… it’s back to coffee, sunshine, and resilience training in Naples ☀️☕

"How am I going to manage all of this?"

I’ve asked myself that question many times -from being diagnosed with scoliosis at 13 to moving countries 30+ times in 6 countries. But those challenges weren't setbacks; they were the training ground for my SISU Method.

Why do I strength train? I want to be able to lift my own white goods with my husband, safely 💪🏻

This is a very useful skill when moving from country to country when your family and old friends are not at hand.

Resilience grows in the face of challenges. Embrace them💪🏻

When lifting big wide items my weakness: lack of width and grip strength.

My strengths: leg strength, ability to find ergonomic enough safe position for both lifters, Sisu to hold on, speed to make process faster, before grip goes.

Octopus -> lean protein
🐢 Pane tartaruga (Turtle-shell bread) -> long fermented, artisan bread, mostly white flour so cheeky treat carbs
Vegetables -> fiber & vitamins
🍋Lemon -> vitamin C + helps iron absorption
Extra virgin olive oil -> good fats, help absorb fat soluble vitamins
Water -> hydration without empty chalories

Ready in 3 minutes. Octopus just heated.

Our Story

Christina Bohane is an experienced Personal Trainer. Growing up in Finland by the edge of the forest inspired in her a love of fitness and the outdoors.

Just being in better shape makes everyday activities more enjoyable: Taking a measured “little but often” approach, Christina offers exercise plans – for all ages and abilities - to help you achieve your goals even when life itself is hectic.

Perhaps you would just like to tone up? Christina has a special interest in strength and conditioning. Simple exercises using kettlebells can be the perfect answer if you like to work out in a small space, for example, at home.
