CoeLux HT25 featured in Balenciaga’s new Beijing store
has opened a new boutique in the prestigious Taikoo Li Sanlitun complex in Beijing. Covering 280 square meters, the store offers a spatial experience shaped by the brand’s architectural language, defined by raw architecture: exposed structural elements, reused metal fixtures, open ceiling grids, extruded aluminium shelving, and stone flooring. This approach reflects a sustainable philosophy, aimed at minimizing the use of virgin materials and preserving existing structures.
The storefront pays tribute to early 21st-century Beijing office buildings, with translucent textile panels intentionally aged in appearance. Inside, a 13-meter vertical light well spans all four levels, anchored by a central staircase illuminated from above by CoeLux High Tech 25 systems—artificial skylights that represent the main visual feature of the space.
These installations reproduce the effect of natural daylight through a vertical beam of light. Their integration enhances the architectural composition, providing a consistent sense of daylight that contrasts with the deliberately unfinished material palette.
