Several factors make it particularly dangerous:
- It is highly resistant, even to the most powerful antibiotics
- It mainly affects vulnerable patients, especially those in intensive care
- It can survive in the environment for over 30 days
Beyond direct contact, it can also spread through improperly cleaned surfaces and floors.

Oltre al contatto diretto, può diffondersi anche attraverso superfici e pavimenti non adeguatamente igienizzati.
