Thought of the Day — Beyond Brain Waves
Recently I came across a video by Gregg Braden about synchronizing the heart and the brain — and it stayed with me.
For many of my friends who meditate, pray, breathe, chant mantras, or sit in silence…none of this feels new. We’ve touched states beyond thought, beyond emotion, beyond identity long before science had discovered them.
What feels new is that research is now beginning to measure what mystics, yogis, and contemplatives have known for centuries.New brain–heart coherence states.States that don’t fit neatly into beta, alpha, theta, or delta.States of deep stillness, clarity, unity — sometimes described as “no state at all.”
What moves me is this reminder:we are not waiting for technology to unlock our potential. We already have it.
Through prayer.Through meditation.Through breath.Through mantra. And especially through the heart — when the heart leads and the mind follows.
Yes, very soon humans may use devices to access these states faster. And maybe that can be helpful. But I feel it’s just as important — if not more — that we continue to practice, to feel, to discover from within, so we don’t lose our humanness while evolving.
I’m curious…Have you ever experienced what Gregg describes —a moment when the heart and brain felt synchronized, when time softened, when awareness expanded beyond thought?
And do you feel it’s possible that there are still deeper states (no states) waiting to be recognised?
If you feel drawn, you can watch the video, sit with it, and share what it stirs in you.I’d love to read your reflections
