It is the first center for neurosurgical simulation and training and it is recognized as one of the best-equipped simulation centers in the world, with state of the art neurosurgical simulators such as NeuroTouch, Immersive Touch, Surgical Theater and the 3D anatomical visualizer, Virtual Proteins. These simulators are unique and innovative in their performing tasks and functions. This 3-D virtual reality with tactile sensitivity (haptic feedback) will allow students and neurosurgeons to study, evaluate and practice peculiar or basic interventions in a virtual environment without exposing the patient to risk. Thus the Besta NeuroSim Center’s mission is to propose a revolutionary training method for the new generations of neurosurgeons, and to examine how to achieve performance excellence in surgery through simulation in order to guarantee patient’s safety.
