SECOND ADVANCED CADAVERIC MICRO-ENDO-EXOSCOPIC DISSECTION COURSE OF THE PETROUS BONE
The advanced course aims to deepen anatomical and surgical knowledge of the petrous bone and lateral skull base through hands-on dissection of fresh-frozen specimens. It focuses on the integrated and comparative use of modern visualization technologies, including the operating microscope, exoscope, and endoscope, and offers practical experience with contemporary surgical materials and prosthetic devices such as bioactive glass, stapes prostheses, TORP and PORP, and cochlear implant arrays.
The program includes a theoretical component delivered remotely through seven webinars covering advanced surgical techniques, indications, and recent technological developments, as well as a two-day practical session with step-by-step dissections supported by high-quality anatomical videos and live demonstrations. Participants work at dedicated dissection stations under continuous supervision by experienced faculty, progressing from the middle ear and mastoid to the inner ear, petrous bone, and lateral skull base. A basic to intermediate knowledge of petrous bone anatomy and otologic surgery is required.
