EMSA Effervescience would love to invite you to a conference in which Professor Luca Lo Sapio, from the Philosophy and Educational Sciences department of Unito, will speak about Ethics and Morality in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Doctors often have to make extremely difficult decisions that test our own sense of ethics and morality. If you feel like you are “on the fence” on issues such as voluntary abortion, join us for our event to help you make a more informed decision!

AVIS (Associazione Volontari Italiani del Sangue) is a non-profit and charitable organisation for blood donation, bringing together over a million volunteer blood donors across Italy.

Hello everyone! 💙

We are happy to announce that our project *Clinics without borders* in collaboration with Medici Senza Frontiere is back on!😍

📍We will meet on the 12th and 13th of March, from 9 to 12 am, in the yellow room of the Didactic Center of San Luigi Hospital.

📚On the 12th of March the expert doctors will come to Sanlu to guide us through the experience they had both emotionally and in clinical practice while working on the field.

🩺On the 13th the participants will be divided in groups and will work together to solve some interesting clinical cases under the guidance of the Doctors, eventually reaching even a therapeutic decision.

📌 Hey! EMSA is organizing a practical workshop on how to perform an orthopaedic physical examination in collaboration with Professor Bellato and other doctors of the orthopaedic department.

🗓️ It will be on the 20th of February at 14:30, in the simulation room in San Luigi. 

✨ Brief anatomical review and then real life explanation of tests of 4 anatomical regions: hip, knee, shoulder and spine.
✨ Lots of practice under the doctors guidance!

30th January 2024 marks the fourth annual World NTD Day.

💡World NTD Day is a global movement to end neglected tropical diseases.

🩺 NTDs are a group of 20 preventable and treatable diseases which still threaten more than 1.7 billion people. These diseases cause immeasurable suffering especially in poor and marginalised communities, affecting the most vulnerable people without access to healthcare.

❗️Bringing more attention to these diseases is crucial for building global awareness, as well as mobilising the resources needed for eradication of these diseases. So far, 50 countries have eliminated an NTD, showing that progress is possible.

That was the UN’s motto for 2024 International Day of Education. In today’s sociopolitical context, an active commitment to peace is of utmost urgency and importance.

Education should be a transformative process, enabling learners to gain knowledge, but also values, attitudes, skills and behaviours. Education emerges as a powerful tool against growing discriminations, hate speech, as well as misinformation.

Quality education is one of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable education promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Take a moment now to think about what education means to you. Try to understand where you would have bewn without it, and how many opportunities you have gained thanks to the education you have been given.
