The international WHi Team led by the IAS Lab (Deparment of Information Engineering, University of Padova) will compete in BCI Race discipline in the Cybathlon event. Wearable Hybrid interface Team (WHi Team) is a synergistic group that intertwines expertise from multidisciplinary fields: from engineering to neuroscience, from assistive technology to computer science. WHi Team is composed by researchers from academic institutions (IAS Lab, University of Padova, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), an end-user association (AIAS, Bologna) and a commercial partner (EXiMotion srl).

FRANCESCO BETTELLA: lo sport è una cosa da ingegneri!

26 anni, di Padova, pratica nuoto nella Aspea Padova Onlus Oltre ai 12 anni di nuoto, Francesco si è laureato in ingegneria meccanica, ed è attualmente coordinatore della squadra di nuoto dell’Aspea. Per lui tutto è scientifico, al punto che ha creato uno stile di nuotata innovativo che lo ha portato ad essere sempre più veloce. È impegnato in progetti universitari legati al controllo di robot e computer con il pensiero (Cybathlon) e collabora con la squadra nazionale di Wheelchair Rubgy per lo studio delle caratteristiche meccaniche del gesto sportivo. Nel suo futuro, oltre che ingegnere, si vede già allenatore di nuoto.
