On Friday the 16th of May my wife broke her ankle falling in a pothole whilst walking in Palermo.

She was taken to Accident and Emergency in Palermo at 2.30pm and X -Rayed at 7.30pm.

The doctor in A&E said she would have to stay in overnight and see an orthopaedic specialist the following day.

However, our return flight home to the U.K was the following morning!

At 9.45pm in desperation I googled “ Private Orthopaedic Surgeons in Palermo”

Emiliano Pitti answered the call immediately and within 15 mins was at the hospital looking at my wife’s X-Rays.

He diagnosed partial detachment of the fibular malleolus but said she was O.K to fly home.
WHAT A Man. I shall forever be grateful to Emiliano and Without their speedy help we would probably still be in Palermo.

I shall never forget Emiliano arriving like Tom Cruise on his motorbike, helmet in one hand and briefcase in the other.

A great testament to Sicilian treatment at its very best. I wish them both well with their careers.
