Coy's opera "Becoming the Moon", which began with a commission by the Getty Research Institute in 2023, illuminated REDCAT's New Original Works Festival last fall, inspired by the Florentine Codex's account of Tecciztecatl, a gender expansive Mexica deity of the moon.⁠
