Pedicled perforator flaps 💫 and microsurgery 🔬help us to restore form and function not only after cancer resection ☠️ or trauma 🦴 but also in case of severe vascular malformations 🩸 like this.
In this patient a pedicled SGAP flap was used to obtain like with like reconstruction 🎯 in a one stage surgery

When facing Melanoma defects 🐉 pedicled perforator flaps and propeller flaps 💫 represent my first choice to obtain like with like reconstruction✨😇

This is impossible to apply for more extensive defects 🪨 ❌ In those cases I prefer to jump on the reconstructive elevator 🚀🛗 to restore form and function with superthin free perforator flaps.
An extra effort really makes a big difference 🎯🎖️

It has been a true honor for me to be involved here as invited professor to teach at the oldest flap course in the world 🌎 The Canniesburn Flap Course 💪
