When animals develop thick, yellow mucus, blocked noses, or shifting respiratory symptoms that never seem quite the same from one hour to the next, Pulsatilla is a remedy farmers will use.
It’s particularly useful when:
• discharge is mild, yellow, or creamy
• symptoms change frequently — sometimes coughing, sometimes snuffling, sometimes teariness
• the animal seeks company, contact, or is more subdued and “clingy” than usual
• warm, stuffy sheds make everything worse, while fresh air brings relief
For lambs, calves, and even adult stock, Pulsatilla supports the body in softening and moving mucus in a gentle, non-forced way.
At Whole Health Agriculture, we focus on observing the overall temperament and environment, not just the physical signs. Remedies like Pulsatilla work best when chosen to match the whole picture — behaviour, mood, discharge, and what eases or aggravates symptoms.
