Why focusing on music & sound? 🔊

Because they have a powerful effect on our brain. They activate the limbic system, which is involved in processing emotions and controlling memory.

Some of you might not know it yet, but I’m a DJ too.

I’ve always been sensitive to sounds. And before approaching deejaying, I enjoyed this art by creating playlists for my yoga classes. It was (and still is) a kind of meditation.

Creating a conducive sonic journey for practitioners to tap into a deeper meditative state. Through sounds and music, coupled with movement, I enjoy guiding practitioners into a multi-sensorial journey.

During my retreats and in-person events, expect yoga classes & guided meditations with thought-through music & sounds. ✨

Here’s one of my favourite playlists to practice on - 1h 12m of pure flow: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0iJU9ScGveuk8XApD3l6Qz?si=eeb980ac453f4a47 (click link in bio to access it!)

Good morning loves!
Did you know I recently opened a blog where I write on a weekly basis? (❁´◡`❁)

Have a lovely start of the week! 💕

When I tell people about my passion for Acroyoga, I'm often asked: what is it? If you look for its definition on Google, it would say something like: "A physical practice combining yoga and acrobatics, bringing in holistic healing elements of therapeutics. It usually includes a group of (at least)

Hello sunshines! ☀

Amongst other things, I decided to start writing. I realised it's actually not my forte, but want to improve in it.

Why? Because I want to voice my experiences and feelings, and find so much purpose in writing out my thoughts. ✍🏻

Topics will range from identity (racial and cultural), yoga, adulting, self-development, minimalism, sustainability, and anything that crosses my mind - really. 💭

This first article celebrates my 5 years of yoga practice by listing out the most valuable lessons yoga taught me in these years.

I hope some of you will find it interesting.

Please feel free to drop a comment or send a message through! I always love to chat and exchange thoughts!

Love and light to you all, xx

In September I reached an important milestone: practicing yoga for 5 years. That gave me a good motivation to launch my own website and start with this first blog post. Throughout my entire life, I've never been so consistent in something for so long. So to commemorate my fifth anniversary

Hey you.
Broken heart, wounded soul, wandering spirit.
I wanna tell you you’re not alone.

That whichever sorrows you’re going through, eventually, things will get better. That we all go through similar life cycles.
Truth is, this healing process never looks pretty nor easy.

Reminiscing past mistakes, choices and paths taken. Wondering whether we did the right thing. We all meander through the depths of our own mind. Digging for a deeper understanding of our selves. A healing process that determines our growth and resilience.

Also the wounds will heal. Turning into unexpected unfolding. With another light.

So hold tight onto life.
Know that you’re not alone.

Love and light to you. May peace find you.

Yours truly,
T. ✨

Y O G A P H I L O S O P H Y 🧘🏻‍♀️ Part 1 - In the last years, yoga has become quite popular. With the pandemic, even more people started approaching to yoga for different purposes: as a way to stretch, to calm down the thoughts, to find a healthier routine or simply to try it out (and to be forever hooked by it 😏😉).

But what does yoga exactly mean? You might have seen or heard the quote "practice and all is coming" already. However, knowing some notions of Yoga's philosophy would benefit your own practice as it might make you more aware of where this ancient practice is coming from.

Yoga is generally defined as a spiritual path that helps to understand life, the cause of suffering and how to overcome such suffering.

Yoga also means union, of the ego-self and the higher-self. It helps you mastering the mind by honing your listening skills and ultimately leading you to freedom/enlightenment. By being more mindful, more present in the moment.

In the next post, I'll explain more about yoga's philosophy and what the goal of it is.

Let me know what you think of it 🤗

A Y U R V E D A 🥣
The more I delve deeper into yoga and holistic practices, the more I find myself being drawn to different forms of alternative medicine too.

I was raised with principles of traditional Chinese medicine and often herbal remedies were passed into my hands when seasons were changing or when I was feeling a bit under the weather. Actually, I remember myself being reluctant to eat or drink weird concoctions that my mom or grandma would prepare for me. In hindsight, I regret for not being more curious about the nature of certain ingredients and to ask more questions/do more research.

Now I see myself going back to using ingredients like ginger, goji berries, chysantemum and dried dates in a cup of hot water to calm my digestive system.

Thanks to Eline and Dana , who have been sharing their own journey in finding a balance of good health in their own life, I was able to get closer to Ayurvedic medicine - one of the oldest holistic medicine system that finds its roots in India.

Ayurveda is an alternative kind of medicine and finds its healing / preventive practices through massages, meditation, dietary changes and yoga.
Its holistic approach, like in the Chinese medicine, is what resonates with me. There is no "one size fits all" formula (and no shortcut).

As in yoga we say "everybody's body is different", so is the health.
We need to adjust the healing practices to our different health condition.

Would you like to know more about Ayurveda and its healing practices?

Lucky for you Eline is about to launch a SUPER program that will do wonders to your digestive and immune system! 🤩

N A T A R A J A S A N A 🩰

Lord of the Dance pose or commonly known on the gram as is one of the first poses that caught my attention for its elegance. Despite looking easy, it combines so many aspects that make it so complex: strength, balance, focus and flexibility.

When I look back at my self-practice, I realize how much I was constantly comparing myself, battling with my ego, wanting to arch as much as possible to flip the grip without listening to my body or respecting its time to open.
Today, I am more patient.
More loving towards my practice and body, in each pose.

In this picture I am posing in front of one of the buildings of my university taken in a very warm day this summer by the sweet 📸
As I am concluding my thesis and with that my MSc studies, a significant chapter is coming to an end. With its ups and downs, I still can't believe how fast these years passed by. Yet so many new insights, people met and memories created.

I don't know what the future will bring, but I know I want to continue cultivating my own yoga practice exploring further body-mind connection. I want to invest all myself into what makes my heart full and my mind content.
I want to continue teaching and spread the word of yoga, and make it as accessible and inclusive as possible for every body.
Teaching is giving me joy, passion and discipline. 🎇

For all the practitioners who came, has been coming and will come to my classes... I see you. I feel you. And I want to thank you.

Thank you for allowing me to guide your practice. 🙏🏻
