Alla luce delle indagini del Parco archeologico del Colosseo e delle verifiche geometriche seguite da Stefano Boeri Interiors, il progetto sul fronte meridionale (fornici 60–76 lato Valadier, 1–18 lato Stern) prevede il ripristino della crepidine originaria — doppio gradino perimetrale che definisce il basamento e la soglia tra monumento e piazza. L’intervento è stato reso possibile tramite ribassamento controllato della quota della piazza (~ -1 m), che ha consentito l’emersione delle geometrie originarie (alzate da 19 cm, pedata da 38 cm). La corrispondenza tra perimetro di scavo e tracciato geometrico ha confermato l’impianto del monumento e permesso una ridefinizione del perimetro della crepidine.

Based on the archaeological investigations conducted by the Parco archeologico del Colosseo and the geometric analysis followed by Stefano Boeri Interiors, the project on the southern front (arches 60–76, Valadier side; 1–18, Stern side) focuses on the restoration of the original crepidine—the double perimeter step defining the base and the architectural threshold between the monument and the surrounding plaza. The intervention was enabled by a controlled lowering of the plaza level (approx. -1 m), allowing the original geometry to re-emerge (risers of 19 cm and treads of 38 cm). The alignment between the excavation perimeter and the geometric layout confirms the monument’s underlying design and allows for a redefinition of the crepidine perimeter.

Il progetto di valorizzazione degli ambulacri meridionali, attraverso il ripristino delle quote originarie, restituisce leggibilità all’impronta del . La nuova pavimentazione interpreta in chiave contemporanea la geometria radiale del monumento e integra impronte che rendono leggibili i fornici scomparsi. Parallelamente, il progetto assicura la piena accessibilità degli spazi attraverso l’inserimento di rampe di accesso collocate alle estremità del percorso e in corrispondenza di quello che, in origine, costituiva l’avancorpo meridionale del monumento. Questo sistema consente di superare i dislivelli generati dal ripristino della quota storica, rendendo l’area percorribile in modo continuo e inclusivo e integrando i dispositivi di accesso nella nuova configurazione dello spazio.

The project for the enhancement of the southern ambulatory restores legibility to the footprint of the through the reinstatement of its original levels. The new flooring interprets the monument’s radial geometry in a contemporary way and incorporates markings that reveal the structures that have disappeared. At the same time, the project ensures full accessibility of the spaces through the insertion of ramps at the ends of the path and in correspondence with what originally constituted the monument’s southern advance. This system allows visitors to overcome the level differences created by the restoration of the historic elevation, making the area continuously and inclusively accessible while integrating the access elements into the new spatial configuration.

Oggi è stata inaugurato il progetto di valorizzazione degli ambulacri meridionali del , sviluppato dallo studio Stefano Boeri Interiors. Il progetto si configura come un intervento di ricomposizione spaziale volto a ristabilire sul lato meridionale il perimetro di riferimento dell’Anfiteatro Flavio e restituendo una nuova leggibilità agli ambulacri meridionali. L’operazione progettuale, successiva alla campagna di indagini archeologiche, ha previsto il ripristino delle quote originarie e della crepidine e la ripavimentazione degli ambulacri meridionali mancanti.

Today marked the inauguration of the project for the enhancement of the southern ambulatory areas of the , developed by Stefano Boeri Interiors. The intervention is conceived as a spatial recomposition aimed at re-establishing, on the southern side, the reference perimeter of the Flavian Amphitheatre, while restoring a renewed legibility to the ambulatory spaces. Following a campaign of archaeological investigations, the project included the reinstatement of the original levels and the crepidine, as well as the repaving of the missing sections of the southern ambulatory.

Il masterplan, elaborato da , propone la trasformazione dei 45.000 mq dell’ex Caserma di Cavalleria Vittorio Emanuele II in un “edificio-città” che attraverso una nuova distribuzione degli spazi, interventi di manutenzione e ristrutturazione degli edifici esistenti affiancati dallo sviluppo di nuove aree, sia in grado di riunire al proprio interno funzioni pubbliche, servizi, istruzione e formazione, cultura e musei, socialità e benessere, sviluppo e ricerca. Il progetto prevede il potenziamento dei servizi e degli spazi di incontro per cittadini, associazioni e realtà nel territorio, nell’ottica di favorire lo sviluppo di una città piu inclusiva e attenta ai bisogni della popolazione.

The masterplan, developed by , proposes transforming the 45,000 square metres of the former Vittorio Emanuele II Cavalry Barracks into a “building-city” that, through a new distribution of space, maintenance and renovation of existing buildings, and the development of new areas, will be able to bring together public functions, services, education and training, culture and museums, socialising and wellbeing, development and research. The project involves enhancing services and meeting spaces for citizens, associations, and organisations in the area, with a view to promoting the development of a more inclusive city that is attentive to the needs of the population.

La rigenerazione del complesso dell’ex Caserma di Cavalleria, di Voghera, prende forma attraverso un grande sistema interconnesso di cortili e giardini pensato come cuore del futuro polo urbano. La Corte degli Eventi, con i suoi 16.000 mq di prati, arbusti e alberature, ospiterà un ampio palco con gradinate immerse nel verde, trasformandosi in un auditorium all’aperto per concerti e iniziative. Inoltre sorgerà anche la Corte della Cultura e dello Sport, oltre 10.000 mq dedicati ad attività culturali, sportive e ricreative e un secondo auditorium all’aperto. A completare il progetto, una rete di giardini tematici diffusi nelle corti e nelle aree perimetrali, pensata per favorire esperienze educative all’interno di un paesaggio capace di connettere persone e comunità.

The regeneration of the former cavalry barracks, in Voghera, takes shape through a large interconnected system of courtyards and gardens designed as the heart of the future urban hub. The Events Courtyard, with its 16,000 sqm of lawns, shrubs, and trees, will feature a wide stage with green terraces, becoming an open-air auditorium for concerts and initiatives. The project also includes the Culture and Sports Courtyard, over 10,000 sqm devoted to cultural, sports, and recreational activities, together with a second outdoor auditorium. Completing the intervention is a network of thematic gardens distributed across the courtyards and perimeter areas, conceived to promote educational experiences within a landscape that connects people and community.

Presentato oggi a Voghera, il masterplan seguito da , per la rigenerazione funzionale dell’ex Caserma Vittorio Emanuele II. Il progetto, che segna l’avvio di una trasformazione profonda dell’area, propone la trasformazione dei 45.000 mq della caserma in un vero “edificio-città”, un polo multifunzionale che integra in un unico grande organismo servizi pubblici, spazi culturali, istruzione, ricerca, sport, attività creative e nuovi ambienti dedicati alla socialità. La rigenerazione coinvolge anche l’impianto paesaggistico del complesso, che darà vita a un grande sistema interconnesso di cortili e giardini pensato come cuore pulsante del nuovo polo urbano.

Presented today in Voghera, the masterplan developed by outlines the functional regeneration of the former Vittorio Emanuele II Barracks. The project, which marks the beginning of a profound transformation of the area, envisions converting the 45,000 sqm complex into a true “city-building”: a multifunctional hub that brings together public services, cultural spaces, education, research, sports facilities, creative activities, and new environments dedicated to social interaction. The regeneration also extends to the site’s landscape system, designed to create a large interconnected network of courtyards and gardens, conceived as the vibrant heart of the new urban center.

In 2024, Italy was the Guest of Honour at the 76th edition of the Frankfurt Book Fair. The pavilion, which was designed by Stefano Boeri Interiors and developed from an idea shared with art historian Giovanni Agosti, was structured around a central square, framed by architectural elements such as the porticoes that defined its perimeter — some of them featuring historical and architectural details that articulated the rhythm of the space — and the surrounding steps, which also became an informal seating area where people could socialise freely and spontaneously, just as they do in the historic squares of Italian city centres.

With the aim of giving a new look to the historic Mux collection launched by Frezza in 1984, Stefano Boeri Interiors has designed a line of products capable of adapting to the changing functions and activities that can take place within one’s workplace. The furniture design is conceived to suggest a new approach to the use of this space by dividing up spaces, marking out one’s own time and giving managers the possibility to personalise their working environments. The aesthetic line of the furniture remains clean but clearly recognisable: the dualism and contrast born from the combination of different materials, helps to delineate the different areas and functions, while the shapes and finishes, designed to accommodate every inclination of taste, fit harmoniously into even the most private settings.
