Waiting for the |
After "Sermon to the Fish" (2022) and "Sermon to the Birds" (2023), Hilal Baydarov presents the final chapter of his "War Tales" trilogy: SERMON TO THE VOID, a film where the desert is endless and the characters have no names, except for the protagonist. He's Shah Ismail and – in a world that has reached its end – he is searching for the precious Water of Life.
Baydarov, a student of Hungarian director Béla Tarr at his prestigious Sarajevo Film Academy, has already been to the with "In Between Dying". His multiple awards and participation in festivals such as the Sarajevo Film Festival, the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), the Cinéma du réel, and the Tokyo International Film Festival have made him one of the most renowned contemporary Azerbaijani directors.

Dopo "Baliqlara xütbe" (2022) e "Quslara xütbe" (2023), Hilal Baydarov firma il terzo e ultimo capitolo dei suoi "Racconti di Guerra": BOŞLUĞA XÜTBƏ, un film in cui il deserto è infinito e i personaggi non hanno nome, ad eccezione del protagonista. Lui è Shah Ismail e – in un mondo ormai giunto alla fine – è alla ricerca della preziosa Acqua della Vita.
Baydarov, allievo del regista ungherese Béla Tarr alla sua prestigiosa Sarajevo Film Academy, era già stato alla con "Səpələnmiş ölümlər arasında". I suoi molteplici riconoscimenti e partecipazioni a festival come il SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL, l'IDFA, ilCinéma du réel - Festival international du film documentaire e il 東京国際映画祭　TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL lo hanno portato a diventare uno dei più noti registi azeri contemporanei.

In attesa di scoprire la , ripercorriamo gli ultimi passi dei nostri ! Uniti dalla "convinzione condivisa nella forza della poesia più radicale", Yoann Bourgeois e Patrick Watson, insieme alla Yoann Bourgeois Art Company, riflettono sull’assenza di peso, dando vita a un'opera d’arte radicalmente multidisciplinare a Marghera. Al Teatro alle Tese i FRIENDS OF FORSYTHE compongono "un arazzo narrativo che trascende i confini delle forme di danza tradizionali", mentre Philippe Kratz e Pablo Girolami prendono ispirazione dal Teatro dell'Assurdo per esplorare la felicità e l’assurdità della vita in SISIFO FELICE, il dittico da loro creato per il Nuovo Balletto Di Toscana - NBDT. Infine, il sipario cala sul Teatro Malibran, dove Marcos Moraukowshka e La Veronal si muovono tra passato, presente e futuro nelle atmosfere oscure – "tanto enigmatiche quanto universali" – di LA MORT I LA PRIMAVERA.

PRESSURE COOKER investigates the current relationship between architecture and local methods and systems of food production. By reimagining a series of greenhouse models, the project explores how architecture can respond to food security challenges in the UAE and internationally, resulting in a possible future in which these forms can be integrated throughout our built and lived environments.

Russia, early 1990s. Amid post-Soviet chaos, in a country seeking a new identity, there's a young man who's eager to make his mark: his name is Vadim Baranov, and soon he will be known as THE WIZARD OF THE KREMLIN.
Olivier Assayas paints an imaginary and imaginative portrait of the spin doctor who’s bound to shape the new Russia under "Tsar" Vladimir Putin, crafting his speeches, fantasies and perceptions.
Based on Giuliano da Empoli's bestseller of the same name, which won the Académie française's Grand Prix du roman in 2022, the film is co-written by Assayas and author Emmanuel Carrère, the mind behind titles such as "Limonov" and "The Adversary: A True Story of Monstrous Deception".
The cast includes Paul Dano, Alicia Vikander, Tom Sturridge, Jeffrey Wright, and an "impressive" Jude Law.

Russia, primi anni Novanta. Nel caos di un Paese che tenta di ritrovare un'identità c'è un giovane uomo che scalpita per emergere: quell'uomo è Vadim Baranov e presto sarà conosciuto con il soprannome di LE MAGE DU KREMLIN.
Olivier Assayas dipinge il ritratto – immaginario e immaginifico – dello "spin doctor" che modellerà la nuova Russia dello "zar" Vladimir Putin, plasmandone discorsi, fantasie e percezioni.

Al 19. Festival Internazionale di Danza Contemporanea la ha dato vita a un programma "di apprendimento, formazione, tutoraggio e creatività senza pari" grazie al talento di sedici danzatrici/danzatori e tre coreografe/i provenienti da tutto il mondo! Dopo aver esplorato "il dialogo tra danza, musica e spazio" in IN C, adattamento dell'opera iconica di Terry Riley a cura di Sasha Waltz (Sasha Waltz & Guests), i sedici giovani performer ballano "sulle ossa di ciò che non siamo riusciti a proteggere" nell'immaginario e crudo mondo concepito da Anthony e Kel Matsena (Matsena Productions) in risposta a THE HERDS, performance site-specific di sensibilizzazione al cambiamento climatico. Ma non finisce qui! A i tre coreografi selezionati presentano le loro nuove creazioni: in AI'M Tamara Fernando e Matthew Totaro si chiedono chi decida "cosa è desiderio e cosa è rispetto", mentre Wang Le oscilla tra Cielo e Terra, assenza e presenza, alla ricerca di "un'armonia con tutto ciò che esiste" in COEXISTENCE.

So long, Maestro (1941-2025)!
It is with great emotion that we bid farewell to the brilliant theatre director, author and total artist, who since the 1970s has expressed his extraordinary innovative and multidisciplinary talent in all the Departments of La Biennale di Venezia, from the to the , from the to the . We remember him with this picture from the , when he won the Golden Lion for sculpture.

Leone d’Oro per la scultura alla Biennale Arte 1993. Alla Biennale Teatro e Musica del 1976 era stato autore con Philip Glass della leggendaria opera Einstein on the Beach.

The Campari award of goes to American director Gus Van Sant, "a unique filmmaker in the landscape of contemporary cinema".
The Award Ceremony will take place on Tuesday 2 September in the Sala Grande at 9:30 pm, before the screening of his new film, DEAD MAN’S WIRE, starring Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Colman Domingo, Cary Elwes, Myha'la and Al Pacino.

Artistic Director Alberto Barbera notes: "His cinema moves freely between the Hollywood system and the circuits of cinéma d’essai, engaging with industry rules without ever being constrained by them, and remaining true to a bold and ever-evolving personal vision. […] Forty years after his first feature film, Van Sant remains a fully active artist, ceaselessly capable of reinventing himself, as demonstrated by his latest, remarkable film DEAD MAN'S WIRE".
