Some feedback truly stops us in our tracks.

We never take words like these for granted. It’s a privilege to support families at such an important time, and we’re quietly grateful to be trusted to do so 🤍

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline.

For many, it’s in the quieter weeks and months after a funeral that support is needed most—when life begins to carry on, but loss is still very present.

Over the coming months, we will be working alongside a Student Bereavement Counsellor who is Cruse-trained in the UK and leads a bereavement support group here in Jersey. Together, we will be offering a small number of one-to-one sessions within our community.

It’s something we feel quietly proud to be part of—working with local people to extend care beyond the funeral, and to support those who may need it most.

A continuation of care, beyond the funeral.

Today we remember.

We honour the courage, sacrifice and resilience of those who lived through occupation and fought for our freedom.

We will never forget the cost of peace, or the debt we owe to those who made it possible.

This week is Dying Matters Awareness Week.

Talking about death is never easy. For many, it’s a conversation we avoid — often until we have no choice.

But opening up these conversations earlier can make a meaningful difference. It allows wishes to be understood, decisions to be made with clarity, and families to feel more prepared when the time comes.

During Dying Matters Awareness Week, we want to gently encourage people to talk — whether that’s with family, friends, or professionals. Even small conversations can bring reassurance, reduce uncertainty, and help ensure that final wishes are respected.

Through our work, we see how valuable these discussions can be. While they may feel difficult at first, they can offer a sense of comfort, understanding and peace of mind for everyone involved.

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s okay.
We are always here to offer guidance, answer questions, and support you in having these conversations when you feel ready.

Whether it’s arranging the interment or scattering of ashes, choosing a memorial, or simply finding ways to remember a loved one, we are here to offer guidance.

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and support is always available when you need it.

We’re truly grateful for these kind words.

To hear that Gareth made such a positive impact and that the service felt right means a great deal to us. It’s always our aim to provide thoughtful, steady support when it matters most.

We were pleased to be invited to contribute to the Jersey Evening Post with an article reflecting on saying goodbye and the importance of final farewells.

Every farewell is deeply personal. It’s a moment to pause, to reflect, and to remember a life in a way that feels right for those left behind. Whether quiet and simple or more traditional, these moments can offer comfort, connection, and a lasting sense of meaning.

Through our work, we see just how important it is for families to feel supported in creating a farewell that truly reflects their loved one. Being able to guide those choices with care and understanding is at the heart of what we do.

Thank you to the Jersey Evening Post for the opportunity to share these reflections.

We’re proud to once again sponsor the upcoming Candles on the Beach — a truly moving event created by Jersey Hospice Care for our Island community.

This special evening brings Islanders together to pause, reflect, and remember loved ones in an incredibly gentle and meaningful way.

It’s a reminder of the strength of community, compassion, and togetherness — values that matter deeply to us.

Events like this don’t just light up the beach, they shine a light on the importance of care, connection, and support for those who need it most across the Island.

Full credit to the incredible team and volunteers at Jersey Hospice Care for creating such a powerful moment of remembrance for Islanders, by Islanders. 💙

It means so much to hear that families felt at ease and supported throughout.

To know that everything felt stress free, and that Amelia and Darren made a positive difference on the day, is exactly what we hope to provide — quiet reassurance when it’s needed most.
