Youth AI Hackathon 2026 – Can you do it better than the adults? 🚀

Jersey faces big challenges, from housing and sustainability to the future of our digital economy. The adults have been trying to solve them for years... now it’s your turn!

We’re looking for Year 9+ students (14+) to take part in a 2-day hackathon to design, build and pitch real solutions for Jersey’s future.

Working in teams of 2-4, you will:

Behind every Jersey TechAwards shortlist is a panel of judges giving their time, experience and careful consideration to every entry. 👏

This year’s judging panel brings together leaders from across AI, digital transformation, business, technology and innovation, helping make sure each nomination is reviewed fairly and scored against clear criteria.

How do we make sure young people in Jersey are ready for the jobs of the future?

Our CEO Tony Moretta joined BBC Radio Jersey last week to discuss AI, digital skills, and why supporting young entrepreneurs to build with technology is so important for Jersey’s future.

Speaking about young developer Lucas Crossland, Tony highlighted how AI is enabling young people to test ideas, build businesses, and develop skills faster than ever before.

Through initiatives including STEM Racing, AI hackathons and our digital career pathway tool, we are working with schools, students, parents and industry to help young people explore the opportunities technology can create.
