Huge congratulations to Leonardo D’Hers 🎉

After a competitive selection and interview process in September 2025, Leo has been appointed as one of the Lieutenant Governor’s Cadets - a first for a St John Ambulance Jersey cadet.

This prestigious role recognises leadership, service and commitment. Leo will support events at Government House, representing young people and our organisation with pride.

We’re incredibly proud of you, Leo - and wish you every success in the year ahead.

FAKE WOUND WARNING!

Casualty Simulation at La Moye cadets.

Casualty Simulation is an art form used in movies and theatre to create realistic make up wounds and injuries. It is also used to make training scenarios more realistic and relevant, particularly in the emergency services. This subject explores the mechanism of injury, the treatment for the injuries and from this work cadets will also have a good idea how to prevent these injuries in the first place.

Cadets had a brilliant time creating their wounds and here is Joel trying to look queasy at the sight of his laceration, possibly a barbed wire tear or glass. We also have a nasty wound with a wooden stirring stick stuck in it. Excellent work cadets!

WARNING FAKE BLOOD! St John Cadets in Action!

Our Cadets planned, resourced, and set up a multiple casualty test for cadet units across the island, held at Crabbe St John. 🚑

The scenario included:
🔹 A crush injury
🔹 An impaled stick in a shoulder
🔹 A fracture with shock
🔹 A panic attack
🔹 An asthma attack

Cadets were challenged to step up as leaders, triage, treat, and call for help - all while working as a team under pressure.

They not only delivered but also assessed and gave feedback to one another. It was a brilliant day out, and as always, our cadets did themselves very proud.

Well done, Cadets & Badgers!

Our young people took part in the annual St John competition, putting their first aid, teamwork and leadership skills to the test - and they loved posing with their awards afterwards! 🏆

Huge thanks to our volunteers, judges and supporters who made the day possible. Every team did us proud.

CPR training - what you had to say 👏
Thanks to everyone who joined us recently. From “well presented, nice refresher” to “I now feel more confident dealing with an emergency,” your feedback means a lot to our trainers and volunteers.

Want to feel the same confidence?
Our next public AED & CPR course is 3 December 2025, 9:00–12:30 at St Martin Training Hall. It’s hands-on, friendly and focused on real-world skills - CPR practice, using a defib safely, and what to do first at the scene.

How to book: send us a message or head to our website. Places are limited.

Booking for a workplace or community group? We can help with that too - get in touch.

A big thank you!

During the stormy weather this summer, our tent tried to take off in the high winds and 6 aluminium poles and 2 joint pieces were buckled.

Therefore rendering the tent unusable.

Fortunately, we were able to find help to repair the buckled parts and put the tent back together in time for our duty at the Marathon last Sunday.

We would like to thank Stephen Rylance of Rylance Architectural Ironworks for donating his time and expertise to bring the tent back in to service. We are incredibly grateful.
