As Jamaica moves into the recovery phase, I remain committed to investing in our psychosocial care and healing. I’m grateful that God’s vision is already touching lives, and I know this is just the start. I’m excited to see how He continues to grow and shape this assignment.

🚨We are now 71% funded!! and we couldn’t have done it without YOU.

Thank you to every single person who has given, shared, prayed, or encouraged us along the way. Your generosity is directly fueling the healing for our Caribbean community.

🇯🇲Our Mental Health Relief Fund supports Jamaican clinicians who have been affected, helping them rebuild their clinics, replace essential equipment, tend to their own families’ needs, and continue providing therapy and crisis support in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

Today, we’re honored to share the recipients who have already used , or will soon be using, these funds for:

🧠Providing therapy services to those most affected
🧱Purchasing building supplies
🚗Covering transportation costs to reach impacted communities
🍴Providing food and emergency support

Your generosity makes this possible.

If you’d like to help us reach our goal of $5,000, you can still donate today. Every gift, big or small, strengthens the hands of those on the frontlines.

Just wrapped an interview on Smile Jamaica on TVJ talking about finding calm after the chaos 🇯🇲

So grateful for the chance to pour into my people and remind us that even after the storm emotional or literal we deserve rest, peace, and support.

Special thank you to Ontonio Holyroller Dawson for sharing this opportunity with me and believing in the work I’m called to do. 🙏🏾

More to come.

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa a catastrophic Category 5 storm devastated Jamaica with 185 mph winds, leaving thousands displaced, homes destroyed, and communities without power or access to basic necessities.

We’re not asking for charity. We’re asking for solidarity. We’re asking the world that has danced to our music, ate our food, celebrated our victories, and embraced our culture to now stand with us in our time of need.

Every contribution to our GoFundMe is a recognition that culture flows both ways. That when you’ve been fed by a people’s creativity, sustained by their art, moved by their triumph over adversity, you show up when they need you.

Across Jamaica, people are wrestling with invisible weight. Survivor's guilt. Immigrant guilt.Distance guilt. Shock. Numbness. Helplessness. Some are scrolling endlessly through disaster videos without realising they are experiencing secondary trauma. Others are on the ground doing the work and quietly breaking inside.

This forum is a pause.
A breath.
A national exhale.
Not everyone who needs healing can log in because connectivity is fragile, but those who can will leave with tools and strength they can carry back to someone else. Healing also moves hand to hand.
If you are frozen, we want to unfreeze you.
If you are overwhelmed, we want to steady you.
If you are strong right now, we want to sharpen your service.

If you are heavy from disaster imagery, we want to bring you back to centre.
Relief, recovery, and reconstruction are not just about buildings. They are about nervous systems and the quiet places of the mind. Trauma settles where we refuse to name it.

Tonight, we gather as neighbours.
We talk about practical coping.
We share support pathways.
We build a healthier emotional ecosystem so we can rebuild a stronger physical one.
Bring your questions. Bring your heaviness. Bring someone's story.
Hope multiplies when we gather.

This is national therapy.
Not because we are weak, but because we are resilient.

After Hurricane Melissa, we knew that asking for help wasn’t enough—action was required. As social workers of Jamaican heritage, we’re organizing a relief fund to provide essential supplies including food, toiletries, and baby items for families across the island.
We’re putting boots on the ground in Jamaica to serve our community and demonstrate the depth of our commitment. No matter where you are in the world, if you’ve ever been moved by our food, our music, or our spirit—you’re part of this community too.
Join us in standing with Jamaica during this critical time. Every contribution makes a real difference. 🇯🇲

Jamaica Mental Health Relief Fund

🇯🇲 When the storm passes, the need for healing remains.
Hurricane Melissa may have shaken our homes and routines, but it did not break the spirit of the Jamaican people. 💛💚🖤

That’s why the Restored Hope: Caribbean Mental Health Summit has launched a Mental Health Relief Fund to support clinicians, community clinics, and families across Jamaica who are recovering emotionally and mentally from this disaster.

Your donations will help provide:
🕯 Emergency therapy sessions & trauma-healing programs
💻 Replacement laptops & tablets for telehealth
🔦 Lanterns, generators for clinics without power
🧽 Cleaning supplies & repairs for damaged offices
✏️ Therapy materials for children and families & more

Every contribution helps rebuild the foundation of mental health care across the island. 🌿
