Had an abnormal Pap smear? You might need a Colposcopy!
Here’s what to expect:

1️⃣ What is it?
A colposcopy is a procedure where we use a special microscope (colposcope) to closely examine your cervix, va**na, and v***a for abnormal cells.

2️⃣ Why it’s done?
Usually recommended after an abnormal Pap smear to check for:
• Cervical dysplasia
• HPV-related changes
• Precancerous or cancerous cells

3️⃣ What happens during the procedure?
• You lie on an exam table like during a Pap
• A speculum is inserted
• A mild solution is applied to highlight abnormal areas
• A biopsy may be taken if needed (quick pinch)

4️⃣ Is it painful?
Mild discomfort, but most patients tolerate it well — no anesthesia needed!

5️⃣ Recovery?
• Light spotting for a day or two
• Avoid in*******se or tampons for 1 week if biopsy is taken
